Kitchen Academy is a programme by Rise Through Culture CIC that uses food as a tool for learning, wellbeing, and connection.

Through hands-on sessions, participants gain practical cooking skills while building relationships in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Why Kitchen Academy Exists

RiseThruCulture delivers Kitchen Academy — a 4-week community cooking programme helping people build confidence, reduce isolation, and connect through shared food experiences.

Problem:

Many adults face poor cooking skills, rising food costs, and increasing social isolation, leading to poor health and reduced wellbeing.

Intervention:

Outcome:

Improved confidence, healthier eating habits, reduced isolation, and stronger community connections.

I hadn’t cooked properly in years, but this gave me confidence again. It didn’t feel like a class—it felt like a community.
